Call To Arms: Join Jon Voight In DC Saturday To Stop ObamaCare

"Transformers" 2007

Jon Voight to join TEA Partiers in Washington DC this Saturday, March 20th at 12 noon EST on the Capitol steps. Pack an overnight bag and join him, along with Rep. Michele Bachmann to fight against the ACORN brass-knuckle bullies and a tyrannical administration.

Join in and tell them to vote NO on government run healthcare, NO to reconciliation, and NO to the unconstitutional "Deem & Pass". (Sounds like Demon Pass)

ResistNet has travel and transportation arrangements to DC. Check it out here and here.

If you can't make it, there's still time to call or fax them here. Or, you can call the toll free DC phone number: 1-877-SOBUSOB

It doesn't matter how we do it, it matters that we do it, before they destroy our country. God bless America

DON'T TREAD ON ME!

It's been a long time since many of us had our history lessons, but in light of today's threat of tyranny, a refresher course or two might be handy. Recently, I have read some pretty remarkable writings, which invigorates me to continue the fight to preserve our Constitution, Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights, written by men who had lived under tyranny and knew their history well.

This is a moving piece from Chuck Norris:

Don't Tread on Me!
by Chuck Norris, September 22, 2009

Sept. 12 was an amazing day, as thousands marched on Washington seeking to unite Americans and make a stand against tyranny and oppression. At the same time, the Tea Party Express escorted a number of patriots to the U.S. Capitol to culminate its cross-country rallies.

But what's next? I have an idea.

What I loved about the 9/12 idea is that it was a nonpolitical, nonpartisan movement. The 9-12 Project was designed to bring Americans back to the place where we were Sept. 12, 2001 -- the day after America was attacked by terrorists. We were not concerned then with red states, blue states or political parties. We were united as Americans, standing together to protect our nation.

On Sept. 12, 2001, we sought to protect our nation against terrorists from without. Beginning on Sept. 12, 2009, we are seeking to protect our nation against enemies of our republic from within. Many of us are protesting the present political direction of Washington. Outrageous borrowing, excessive bailouts, massive spending, speedball stimulus plans, universal hell care and swings toward socialism are just a few of the things that were protested that day. Of course, economics is far from America's only problem, as large as it appears to loom.

I want to emphasize: This revolutionary movement is not solely an independent, Republican or Democratic fight. It represents patriots who are fed up against modernists who seek to overturn almost every principle and tenet laid down by our country's Founding Fathers at the inception of our republic. From the East Coast to the "Left Coast," America seems to be moving farther and farther from its Founders' vision and government.

For example, George Washington advised, "The great rule of conduct for us in regard to foreign nations is, in extending our commercial relations, to have with them as little political connection as possible." Yet despite presidential campaign promises, we slowly are pulling out of Iraq but are escalating missions in Afghanistan. And the Obama administration also pledged $900 million in U.S. taxpayer-funded aid to Hamas-controlled Gaza and Mahmoud Abbas' Palestinian Authority.

On another front, as I've mentioned before, Thomas Jefferson counseled us, "We must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt." Yet the feds have caused our national deficit and debt to skyrocket by trillions of dollars, and they plan much more fiscal expansion, with seemingly few expectations of resistance. Despite the fact that George Washington admonished us that "to contract new debts is not the way to pay for old ones," we keep borrowing and bailing.

Regarding political accountability, Patrick Henry taught that our "Constitution is ... an instrument for the people to restrain the government." Yet Washington politicians trample that founding document by their actions, bypassing its mandates, spinning its words to justify their choices, abandoning its balance of power, and instead using it to accommodate their own desires, partisan politics and runaway spending.

John Adams declared, "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people." Yet we've bastardized the First Amendment, reinterpreted America's religious history, denied our Christian heritage, and secularized our society, and now we ooze skepticism and circumvent religion on every level of public and private life.

And sadly, much of this has escalated in a single year, since our new president took office.

It is no surprise, therefore, that "tea parties" have transformed into town hall revolts, cross-country town criers, 9/12 movements, the Tea Party Express and a proliferation of protests on the Internet. Washington can decry all of these as organized partisan resistance, but the fact of the matter is that everyday common citizens and patriots across this country are fed up with the Fed, and they're not going to take it anymore.

As 9/12 concluded, we all heard many ways to keep this revolutionary movement going. But I was sitting back thinking there's one way we can take a daily stand and declare that as for me and my house, we will serve God and the republic as the Founders did.

If that describes you, then I suggest you fly some revolutionary flag in lieu of your 50-star flag over the next year. Post the 13-star Betsy Ross flag, Navy Jack or Gadsden flag ("Don't Tread on Me") or any representation that tells the story of Old Glory and makes a stand for our Founders' vision of America.

Of course, patriots know that the 50-star flag truly represents one nation under God and our Founders' republic, but modernists simply don't get it. So what do you say we make a statement by flying a different flag and educate our neighbors when they ask us, "Why are you flying that flag instead of the contemporary Stars and Stripes?" (If you insist on posting a modern USA flag, too, then get one that is tea-stained to show your solidarity with our Founders.)

Know a few other patriots? Then please pass along this vintage-flag-posting encouragement to them, as well, and make our Founders proud. And let's remind the U.S. government, "Don't tread on me!"

CLEAN Conservatives vs FILTHY Liberals-- A Photographic Essay

Not only were the participants of the 9/12 Taxpayer March on DC mainstream America, ranging from young families pushing strollers and toting young children, to our Senior Citizens, to our brave Veterans, but they were clean to boot.

From the great Gateway Pundit:

CLEAN Conservatives vs FILTHY Liberals-- A Photographic Essay

After the 2 million strong conservative freedom rally on 9-12:

Here's another photo from the nation's capital after the rally that was taken by a wacky lib:
Looks pretty clean.

And, here is the filth left for someone else to clean up after the Inauguration of Barack Obama:

The democrats were obviously waiting for Big Government to clean up for them.

9/12: THE REVOLUTION HAS BEGUN - A Moving Account

The media needs to be exposed.  In their attempt to 'cover up' critical information', especially in the last few weeks, it has become apparent to the public they cannot be trusted.  Polls have reported major increases in the last couple of weeks to this fact, and their lack of coverage of these historic events will continue to bring this media down.

An absolutely touching and moving account of the 9/12 Taxpayer March on DC was written by Chris Bugard in Andrew Breitbart's Big Hollywood this weekend.  Chris Bugard is the son of a police officer and a cowgirl, with dreams of becoming an actor. He graduated from University of Wisconsin, and has made a living doing bit parts and eventually as a Hollywood stuntman. He later co-partnered the production of "Border", an investigative documentary on the state of our southern border with Mexico.

9/12: The Revolution Has Begun
by Chris Burgard, September 13, 2009

What began on the border in 2005 has spread to DC and every state in the union. The Revolution isn’t coming, it is here. Call it the Constitution Revolution. The genie is out of the bottle and there will be no putting her back in.

I spent all day yesterday up and down Pennsylvania Avenue with people from all over the Union. One guy I met had 45 autographs on his t-shirt from people from 45 states. He only needed 5 more to make it a day.

The mainstream media has reported the rally as anti-Obama or anti-government, both are partially true, but I believe that pro-Constitution would be much more accurate. Pro-Constitution and polite. This was more than a peaceful demonstration. I never heard so many excuse me's and thankyou's in my life, and not a drop of litter to be found.

There was some anger yesterday, there was a lot of frustration, but mostly there was a multitude of Americans determined to have their voices heard. I am talking about people of all colors. I am talking about people with long hair, short hair, Republicans, Democrats, Independents, Libertarians, conservatives, cops, teachers, college students, grandmas, grandpas, great grandmas, moms, dads and kids.

The frustration demonstrated yesterday has been building for longer than nine months. What do the people want? They want the Federal Government to listen to the will of the people. They want the Federal Government to stick to the Constitution. They want the Federal Government to Keep the Czars in Russia.

When I filmed “Border,” I was afraid that the greatest threat to the future of our country was apathy. Those fears were completely swept away by what I experienced yesterday. But the fresh new hope that surged through all of us was tempered by the MSM media reports that we began hearing as soon as we left the Capitol.

I was hit with a nauseating wave of déjà vu. I had a flashback to when I was in Honduras, when a couple hundred Marxist revolutionaries and pro-Zelaya supporters demonstrated and the next day it was on the front page of newspapers around the world. But put one hundred thousand Constitutionalists in the streets of Tegucigalpa and it won’t make U.S. news at eleven.

When we first arrived at yesterday’s demonstration, CNN was reporting that 30,000 people were expected. By the afternoon FOX News was reporting 60,000. The Saturday evening newscasts all said that “thousands” of people had turned out. Later they updated to “tens of thousands.”

At the rally, at noon on Saturday, we began hearing that DC police estimates were 1.2 million. I could not confirm that with any of the DC police officers that I spoke with. However, I did speak with a retired NYPD Sergeant towards the end of the day, he had a significant background in crowd control, including the evacuation of Manhattan on 9/11. This Sergeant put the number between 1.4 and 1.6 million.

The London Daily Mail would later put the number at 2 million. For the better part of two hours we saw Pennsylvania Avenue packed with humanity walking towards the Capitol Building. For the longest time it seemed like an unending river of humanity. Fourteen blocks of streaming individuals!!

I ducked under police tape blocks away from the Capitol Building. Police officers immediately stopped me. I told them that I was press. The officers said that they didn’t care. I was told, “Get back. The venue is full.” They wouldn’t guess at how large the crowds were, but it was clear that they were stunned by the size of the turnout.

Where I stood, thousands of people were being turned back. I had to go around the demonstration to make my way closer to the steps of the Capitol.

I don’t know how many people were there. Maybe satellite photos will later give us an accurate count, but I would estimate that 90 percent of the demonstrators never even saw the event stage. Possibly 50 percent of the crowd never even got close enough to the remote speakers to hear what was being said.

No one cared. They didn’t come to hear the VIP speakers, they came to be with other Americans. They came because this is their house.

I couldn’t help but wonder what President Obama was thinking as he flew over us in Marine One on his way to Minnesota.

As I looked out down from the balcony of a twelfth story Pennsylvania Avenue apartment, our host told me that in all of her decades in DC, she had never seen anything like this.

Either the entire corps of the Mainstream Media are entirely incompetent or they are complicit in propaganda of the greatest proportions. Do not be fooled.

Robert Gibbs said on Friday that the White House was unaware of the rally… he didn’t know who this group was.

Mr. Gibbs, this is not a group. These are the American people, and they came here to remind you that you work for them.

All day long, I saw people pushing strollers. I saw people on crutches and in wheelchairs. But the image that will stick with me the longest was when I saw an elderly woman, possibly near 80 years old, lying in the middle of Pennsylvania Avenue. She was seizing very badly. She had walked almost a mile in the DC heat, but her body just couldn’t take it. Her elderly sister looked on as the paramedics worked on her. I don’t know if she made it, but she was a patriot.

I will put her courage and commitment up against the arrogance of the political elite any day.

There is nothing stronger on this planet than the united will of the American people. Yesterday this nation turned a corner. The American people have awakened, and they want their country back.

DON'T ENABLE THE FINANCIAL-REGULATORY COMPLEX

Over the years Federal regulations have strangled financial institutions, forcing them to make risky loans, beginning with Jimmy Carter's Community Reinvestment Act in 1977 to most recently Barney Frank and Chris Dodd's shenanigans.

This administration is looking to nationalize the financial institutions, pushing America further towards financial ruin.  The Heritage Foundation reports:

Don’t Enable The Financial-Regulatory Complex
September 14, 2009

This Saturday, tens of thousands of Americans marched on Washington to protest the unprecedented amount of power being concentrated in Washington, DC under the Obama administration. And even the New York Times admits they have a point: “The government is the nation’s biggest lender, insurer, automaker and guarantor against risk for investors large and small. Between financial rescue missions and the economic stimulus program, government spending accounts for a bigger share of the nation’s economy — 26 percent — than at any time since World War II.”

And on the Sunday New York Times op-ed page, George Mason University professor of economics Tyler Cowen writes:
For years now, many businesses and individuals in the United States have been relying on the power of government, rather than competition in the marketplace, to increase their wealth. This is politicization of the economy. It made the financial crisis much worse, and the trend is accelerating. … President Dwight D. Eisenhower warned of the birth of a military-industrial complex. Today we have a financial-regulatory complex, and it has meant a consolidation of power and privilege. We’ve created a class of politically protected “too big to fail” institutions, and the current proposals for regulatory reform further cement this notion.
President Barack Obama will be pitching those very financial regulatory reforms today from Federal Hall, where the founders once argued bitterly over how much the government should control the national economy. Unfortunately, the blueprint for financial regulatory reform issued by his administration is a detailed mixture of overreaching policy mistakes, missed chances for real reform, blanks that will be filled in later after studies, and a few good ideas.

The President and Congress should:
  • Avoid Making the Federal Reserve Serve as Systemic Risk Regulator: The Obama Administration proposes to put the Federal Reserve Board in charge of regulating systemic risk, but it is not clear how such regulation would work in practice or even if this method is the best way to approach the problem. Charging a single entity with reducing systemic risk is likely to raise false expectations. It is very doubtful that any systemic regulator will be able to successfully fill this role unless it has almost unlimited powers, and this type of open-ended power would be difficult to constrain and should be resisted.
  • Do Not Create a Consumer Financial Protection Agency: The administration proposes to consolidate existing consumer regulators into a new and very powerful Consumer Financial Protection Agency. This is the single biggest policy mistake in the Obama plan. The proposal assumes that consumers are unable to understand any financial products other than the most simple, basic versions even with detailed disclosures in advance of purchase. This basic contempt for the intelligence of consumers would extend to requiring them to refuse certain basic products before they would be allowed to purchase anything else.
  • Resist Giving the FDIC Resolution Authority for “Too Big to Fail” Financial Firms: Dealing with failing financial companies that could cause risk to the financial system is a valid concern, but the Administration’s approach seems more geared toward facilitating future bailouts and justifying additional intervention. Clearly, a receiver/conservator that can operate the least certain subsidiaries until they can be sold or orderly closed is necessary in order to maximize returns to debtors. But the Treasury plan assumes that the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) should handle this role rather than allowing the courts to determine a receiver and then supervise it.
Instead of a Washington-centric top-down approach, the President and Congress should pursue a more modest approach. Rather than giving a government agency the ability to take over and operate large financial institutions, bankruptcy law ought to be modified to accommodate the special problems of resolving these firms and also allow the courts to appoint receivers with the specialized knowledge necessary to best deal with their failure. Instead of creating a regulatory scheme that results in the federal government financing 9 out of 10 new mortgages, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac should be eliminated. And rather than seeking to micro-manage “too big to fail” financial institutions, it would be better to require them to have more capital than is required for smaller financial institutions.

OBAMA'S BUNKER MENTALITY

Anybody need more proof what a disgrace the media is? Last week had some pretty historic events revealed by good old fashioned investigative reporting -- Van Jones and ACORN's child prostitution scandal. They completely ignored the 9-12 March on DC, and to their peril. The American people are not stupid, and the press are treating them as so. It's the 'If we don't report it, then it didn't really happen or certainly wasn't worth reporting' mentality.

Remember the days of Woodward & Bernstein looking for the truth? Oh my, when the public loses confidence in the mainstream media reporting, the media will be overlooked for accurate informative reporting -- and there's lots of it.

Here's a brilliant piece by Pam Geller of Atlas Shrugs (go girl!):

Obama's Bunker Mentality
by Pamela Geller, September 13, 2009

Into the bunker he went ......................

While the largest civilian march on Washington in the nation's history was taking place, dear leader was hiding in Minneapolis. Like a dog marking his territory, O took to the stage where the RNC held their convention last year. In yet another staged event, Obama was given his daily fix of faux cheering to feed his insatiable head.

The face of a divider. (photo hat tip Van)

This march on Washington was of enormous historic import, an American phenomenon, and the media (save FOX) would not cover it. They are washed up. This week alone they failed to report on Van Jones, the huge child prostitution scandal at ACORN, O's plummeting popularity...... When the news won't report the news and the folks find out they aren't reporting the news, the folks will do to the media what the media did to Terry Schiavo.

For every person who showed up in DC there were at least 100 who didn't but wanted to. The O-bots know this. The propagandists, disinformationalists and their corrupt media activist tools will minimize it, marginalize, ridicule it, but they will not stop us. This is the beginning of the end for them (if not them, us).

We now have a President who seeks to divide and destroy. Has the nation ever been so at odds? Not since the civil war. And in a stunning paradox, we now have a president seeking to enslave half the American people.

THE 9/12 TAXPAYER MARCH ON DC. One Patriot's Story

Millions and millions of American patriots have heart warming stories to tell from yesterday's overwhelming experience in our nation's capitol and across the nation. This patriot's story is worth sharing, and expresses the feelings and thoughts of so many.

Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine such a response, but with our freedom being so trampled and abused, the people have spoken. Now the question is, will they listen?

The Million Mob March
THE 9/12 TAXPAYER MARCH ON DC
One Patriot's Story (Thank you, BC, and God bless)

September 13, 2009

Just wanted to share some thoughts about the 912 protest in DC yesterday:

I've lived just outside the DC metro-tristate area for the majority of my life. I've been to DC many times and have always used Metro to get around the city. Generally, my previous experiences on Metro have been uneventful. Folks that use Metro regularly, I think will agree, passengers don't really speak to one another or pay much attention to other passengers. People have the tendency to keep to themselves and rarely engage total strangers with random conversation. Yesterday was NOT the norm, by any sense!

I drove from my home to the nearest Metro and parked. Before I was able to take 10 steps from my car, found myself walking with total strangers, with whom I carried on deep conversations about their (and my) concerns for the direction of our country. Once aboard the crowded train, which is also unusual for 8am on a Saturday, I was surprised to see such a wide variety of folks. There were old people; some in wheelchairs, others with walkers, some with oxygen tanks, and others with canes. There were young folks and children and babies with their parents. There were black, white, Asian, Hispanic, Indian, Russian, Jewish and more nationalities than I could count! An older woman boarded the rear of the car I was on and the folks on the train broke out in cheers. As she made it toward the empty seat across from me, I could see the why folks were cheering her. She was carrying a large post with a stuffed vulture on the top and a sign hanging from underneath that read: "Our government feeds on us." Thus, began the adventure!

The anticipation and electricity in the air on that train was incredible and unlike any other experience I've ever had. Every stop closer to DC, the train filled with more and more people, until there were folks holding each other tight inside, so the doors could close. By the time we reached the last stop, the people on our train were fully engaged with each other and sharing stories and concerns with one another, like we were all old friends. The courteous nature and respect for each, by the people in a mass crowd, was surreal.

Once we arrived in DC and made our way toward Penn Ave, the magnitude of people attending the rally, became quite evident. We thought we'd be lining up to march toward the Capitol, but there were so many people that had gathered, the crowd physically reached to the Capitol from where we got off the Metro, which was about a mile away. The sense of pride, joy and love of country was completely overwhelming! Folks were praying, crying, laughing, shouting, clapping, and chanting all the way to the Capitol. As we made our way past the CNN bus, the crowd broke out in chant, "Communist News Network - Go Home!" It was truly a heart warming experience.

I had the privilege of speaking to and witnessing so many patriotic Americans, whose love and concern for this country is deeply engrained in their everyday lives. I met a family from Pensacola who had traveled overnight on Amtrak to be there, and were leaving the same evening to return home. There were folks carrying signs that said, “I want my vote back!” and thousands of “Don’t Tread on Me” flags. A veteran, who was awarded the Purple Heart and given a Garrison flag as a gift after 9-11, brought it with him and dozens of fellow patriots helped him unfurl and carry this heavy, awkward 40 foot beauty. They held it on display for 4 hours struggling in the wind.

As we were leaving the festivities and making our way back up Penn Ave to Metro, we stopped at a crosswalk to wait for traffic. In the middle of the intersection, a green Ford Taurus stopped in front of the crowd waiting to cross. They rolled down their windows and stuck out their 4 Gadsden flags and began to wave them. Much to my surprise and delight, with the windows rolled down, we could all see that inside the car were 4 nuns. The crowd went wild, cheering and applauding.

I find myself reinvigorated and reassured today, that We The People are fully awake. We are united, we are many, we are informed and we are One Nation Under God. And this is just the beginning.

THE MILLION MOB MARCH

Odds are the mainstream media will downplay the success of this weekend's march on Washington DC, but a picture speaks a thousand words. There will be many more video and photos to come, but, so far, these are too exciting for words.

A SMASHING success, and it's no wonder Obama skipped town. It could be more, but does it really matter? I'm calling it THE MILLION MOB MARCH, and here's a small collection of inspiring moments to date:
